MUDr. Martin Ošťádal

Pan doktor Ošťádal mě operoval před 4 lety, má levá noha byla o 3 cm kratší než pravá a pan doktor mi doporučil fixator a nohu o chybějící cm natáhnout. Po celou dobu hospitalizace me navštěvoval každý den a zlepšoval mi náladu přiměřenými vtípky. Jé profesionál a svou práci odvádí velice dobře. Po 4 letech i po tak závažné operaci mohu vykonávat všechny sporty.

My daughter has a rare condition called Hemihypertrophy. This means the left side of her body grows faster than the right side. She is 12 years old and currently has a leg length discrepancy of over 3cm. She needs a surgical procedure called Epiphysiodesis, which means the growth plate in her bigger leg will be temporarily stopped to allow the shorter leg to catch up.

Dr Martin Ostadal has been monitoring my daughter's condition, and at the most recent appointment recommended the aforementioned surgery.

We were aware that surgery was necessary but natural had concerns that we wanted to discuss. Having done our own research we were aware that the timing of this surgery is extremely important. To give our daughter the best chance of minimising her leg length discrepancy, many things need to be considered to identify the best time for surgery - such as age, the current leg length discrepancy, the predicted leg length discrepancy by the time of maturity, the growth rate of our daughter according to the regular x-rays and scans that she has had etc etc.

We were told by Dr Ostadal that we should decide when our daughter needs the operation! When we told him that the timing should be carefully planned by him, he said we could give it a try soon! Upon further questioning of his decision making process, he asked my daughter to stand up next to myself and her mother, he then had a look at her and said we should book surgery now and we'll see how it goes!

This is a disgraceful decision making process. If the timing of surgery is not careful considered, then our daughter could end up with a longer right leg, or another complication.

We asked Dr Ostadal some further basic questions about the surgery and after care. At this stage he became quite visibly irritated and impatient. In fact, they called in the next patient before we had finished our conversation resulting with two families standing in the same room during the consultation of our daughter's condition.

To call it a consultation is a joke. We weren't given any information by the doctor, we had to ask all the questions and we were treated without any sort of compassion or care.

We understand that the doctor's time is under pressure, however the level of service we received was quite frankly unacceptable.

We have had to wade through hours of information on the internet to find out something about our daughter's condition and the surgery required. Dr Ostadal wants our daughter to have quite serious surgery without providing any information about it, and he hasn't even got the compassion to adequately answer our questions of concern.

Nechci jen psát chválu, ale když u něj to jinak nejde, při porovnání s přístupem jiných lékařů on je prostě jednička.

Vynikající ortoped! Báječný přístup, nevtíravý smysl pro humor a především profesionalita, kterou od doktora očekávám na prvním místě! Pan doktor mi dělal trojí osteotomii pánve, což je velmi náročná, téměř čtyřhodinová operace, přičemž vše proběhlo v naprostém pořádku! Kdykoli jsem měla jakýkoli dotaz, pan doktor byl ochoten mi odpovědět a poradit. Vřele doporučuji!
